Radiant! Struggle
Recently, Jenny Lee moved to Dominica, a small island in the Caribbean. She was immediately attracted to the light and how it brought out the colors of the fruit, water, and the skin of the villagers. She lived for one year in an undeveloped village full of tension and grace.
Jenny's art represents the contrast of radiance and struggle that is the Caribbean. Hot sun, hard work, poverty and unemployment plague a place that is a lush, relaxing invitation to an outsider.
Jenny has tried to be honest and show both of these elements. The Caribbean fulfills its myth of paradise in some ways. As she integrated and built her home in Dominica, the struggle of the people touched her heart and moved her hand to depict their real experiences and living conditions.
All of Jenny's work is available for sale.
